This beautiful oil burner from Canyon Zen is made of porcelain. The star design adds a nice touch to your home décor when the candle is lit. The paddle that holds the tealight candle is very handy so you can easily remove the candle, without burning yourself, when there is no more oil or when you want to turn it off.

The dimensions of the burner are:

• Height: 3.42 inches

• Diameter: 2.83 inches at the base and the top 2.75 inches.

How to Use

WARNING: When in use the burner gets really hot, so do not touch it, do not move it and place it on a heat resistant surface. We sell cork coasters that are perfect to use with the burner. We use those coasters ourselves when using the burner and our candles. Since the burner is really hot when in use, do not pour any essential oil inside when hot, it can result in bodily injury since the porcelain can either break or worse, explode. Wait for the burner to be completely cold prior to pouring more oil. Please be responsible.

Note regarding the candle. Lit the candle and before inserting it in the burner, let it burn for about 2 minutes and then insert it inside. If the candle turns off, it means there is not enough air reaching the candle, and we found that if you let it burn a little longer outside the burner until the wax is melting, it will keep the candle on. Or when the tealight is inside, gently blow inside the burner to provide oxygen and the candle will burn on its own. If you are using other tealight candles than Canyon Zen, some of them are higher and blocking the air flow from reaching the candle. 1. We do not recommend using it to diffuse regular essential oils, the heat will change the composition of the essential oils which will have a different scent and can be unpleasant. This oil burner is made to be used with resinous oils such as Benzoin which cannot be used in a water or a waterless diffuser.

2. Using the burner with resinous essential oils.

   If you are using resinous essential oils like Benzoin Resinoid, which is like a warm vanilla-woody scent and it is fantastic, however once the oil is evaporated, all you have left is the resin which will be near to or even impossible to remove even when hot. And that kind of oil should not be put in water at all since it does not mix. So, if you want to use an oil like that, what we do with ours, we cut two (2) small squares of parchment paper and place it at the bottom of the dish and pour a very small amount of Benzoin. Keep in mind that resinous oils when warm will be liquid, so make sure to keep the oil inside the parchment paper. Let it diffuse the time of the tealight and when done, you can discard the parchment paper which will have only the resin left.
