Benzoin from India (10 ML) - Sold Out -
A free 5 ML essential oil of your choice is included with your order! Tell us which oil you want at checkout!
Note: This oil is amazing! However, the oil is resinous; therefore it cannot be used in a water diffuser since the oil cannot be mixed. Do not use it in a waterless diffuser since the resin will harden when the oil is evaporated. We recommend using an essential oil burner we have available in our store. Since the oil is really thick, prior to use remove the dropper on the bottle since it will not go through. We ship with the dropper for proper sealing.

Product Abstract
The Benzoin tree originates in Java, Sumatra and Thailand where it can grow up to 8 meters (20 feet) with pale green citrus-like leaves, whitish underneath, bearing hardshelled flattish fruit about the size of nutmeg. Deep incisions are made in the trunk of the tree from which the grayish-colored sap exudes. When the resinous lump becomes hard and brittle, it is collected from the bark. It is then cleaned and processed by solvent extraction to produce the thick, resinous oil. Also known as Gum Benjamin, Benzoin is has been used for thousands of years in the east as a medicine and incense, also used in temples; the fumigations were believed to drive away evil spirits, and widely used in perfumery. We recommend placing the bottle in a very hot water bath, and once it is back to the liquid state, gently agitate before use.
