Product Abstract
Because of its soft wood, Ho Wood has traditionally been used to make the handles of Japanese swords and knifes which prevent the blades from scratching. Due to its similar beauty to the Rosewood, Ho wood is used nowadays for ornamental parts of houses, carpentry and cabinet making. In 1900s, Ho Wood became very popular in Taiwan as a linalool-rich product, referred by locals as Shiu oil and was heavily exploited in Japan and Taiwan until World War II for its source of camphor.
