Canyon Zen crafted this blend based on the legend going back to the Black Death in Europe, and they are several variations to the blend and to the story as well. The legend says that during the plague, a group of four brothers began robbing the dead. Their crimes were ignored knowing they will eventually be paying the price, however they continue robbing the dead amassing a great deal of wealth, and became legendary. When the brothers got captured, these men had knowledge about herbs and were using them to protect themselves.

Our blend differs from most other essential oil companies. We wanted to use oils that have strong anti-bacterial properties and to have a blend that has a longer lasting scent. In our blend we have Clove Buds, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Thyme and Clary Sage. Thyme was widely used throughout the ages and when the Black Death struck in the late 1340’s, people turned to Thyme for protection.

Clove

• Might help with the following: relieve stress, help with respiratory issue, clean the air of bacteria.

• Precaution and safety: Avoid during pregnancy. Clove oil can cause skin and mucous membrane irritation. Avoid prolonged use.

Eucalyptus

• Might help with the following: boost mental clarity, might help relieve allergies, relieve cough, and headaches, fights infection.

• Precaution and safety: Externally non-toxic, non-irritant (diluted) and non-sensitizing.

Rosemary

• Might help with the following: reduce stress, boost mental clarity, relieves fatigue, and improves alertness.

• Precaution and safety: Avoid during pregnancy. Not to be used by epileptics. Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing.

Thyme

• Might help with the following: boosts the immune system, fights infections, improves respiratory conditions, and inhibits fungal growth.

• Precaution and safety: Avoid prolonged use. May cause irritation to the mucous membranes, cause dermal irritation and may cause sensitization in some individuals. Best avoided during pregnancy.

Clary Sage

• Might help with the following: relieve stress, increase circulation, clean air of bacteria.

• Precaution and safety: Best avoided during pregnancy, especially during first trimester or when using on abdomen, because it can cause uterine contractions. Non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing.
